Paintless dent repair, explained
PDR fixes hail dents without sanding, filler or new paint. Your car keeps its original factory finish.
Step 1
Find every dent
Hail leaves dozens of small dents, many hard to see. The panels are checked under a bright light so none get missed.
Step 2
Get behind the panel
Trim, lights or a headliner may come off so the tools can reach the back of the dent.
Step 3
Push it back out
Special rods press the metal out slowly from behind, a little at a time, until the panel is smooth again.
When it works
Most hail dents, as long as the paint is not cracked or chipped. The metal moves back, the paint comes along with it.
When it doesn't
If the paint is broken or the dent is on a sharp edge, that panel needs body and paint work instead. The shop does that too.
